Join Us in Advocating for Change

Empowering Bangladesh for a Brighter Future

Better Bangladesh is a non-partisan movement rooted in the belief that every citizen deserves dignity, opportunity, and a voice. We are committed to building a nation where well-being and prosperity are not privileges for the few, but fundamental rights for all. United, we stand against oppression, defend liberty, and advance equality in every corner of our country.

In solidarity with those affected by the July Movement, we are actively providing financial assistance, legal aid, and emotional support to victims and their families. Their courage fuels our mission, and their resilience inspires our fight for a more just and inclusive Bangladesh. The time for change is now — and it begins with all of us.

Rising Together for Justice, Equality, and Freedom in Bangladesh

Founded by a collective of concerned Bangladeshi Americans in the greater Sacramento area in California, Better Bangladesh was born in response to the brutal crackdown on peaceful student and citizen protesters during the historic July Movement of 2024. Between July 16 and August 5, the fascist regime of the Awami League unleashed violence that left hundreds dead and thousands wounded — a dark chapter in our nation's history that we will never forget.

In solidarity with the victims and in defiance of tyranny, we organized mass protests at the Sacramento Capitol on July 21 and August 4. Our voices echoed those of brave protesters back home, and on August 5, dictator Sheikh Hasina fled the country. We mark that day as the Second Liberation of Bangladesh — a reclaiming of the spirit of 1971 and the ideals our nation was founded upon.

We honor the freedom fighters and martyrs of both the 1971 War of Independence and the 2024 July Movement. Their courage fuels our commitment to building a Better Bangladesh — one that is just, inclusive, and truly free.

Who We Are

Our Work: Turning Vision Into Action

Our Key Initiatives

Grassroots Engagement

We empower communities by encouraging active participation in policymaking and societal change.

Justice for July Movement

We stand with the brave students and citizens who led the July 2024 uprising against state oppression. Our platform amplifies their voices, documents their stories, and fights for justice on every front.

Peaceful Protests

We organize peaceful demonstrations to voice the public's concerns and demand government accountability.

Non-Partisan Approach

Our platform remains neutral, focused solely on the welfare of the people of Bangladesh.

At Better Bangladesh, our initiatives are the heartbeat of our movement — bold actions rooted in compassion, courage, and an unshakable commitment to justice. We work tirelessly to support victims, mobilize communities, and advocate for lasting change.

Victim Support Fund

The martyrs and wounded warriors of the July Student Movement sacrificed their blood for justice and freedom. Today, many of them are disabled, struggling financially, and in desperate need of our support. It is our moral and humanitarian duty to stand by them, especially those who have become permanently disabled and are waiting for our help.

Better Bangladesh has extended 3,75,000 BDT in financial assistance to the families of martyrs and the injured victims of the July Movement — including the families of Atikul and Anas, along with 19 brave individuals who have been left permanently disabled.

In collaboration with the July Foundation and Deepto TV, Better Bangladesh is actively facilitating ongoing donation programs to ensure sustained support. Our commitment is unwavering — we stand in solidarity with these courageous souls, offering not just aid, but hope and dignity in their journey toward healing
